Foreman Who Suffered 25 Foot Fall Awarded $9.8 million
The plaintiff, who was a foreman at a construction site, was working on a roof approximately 23 feet above ground. At the time of the accident, he was cutting a steel band around a bundle of lumber, when a piece of lumber struck him in the chest, causing him to stumble backwards off the roof.

The plaintiff sued the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, owner of the building, and Concept Construction Corporation, general contractor of the construction project. They were found liable for failure to provide safety devices that were required by law.

The plaintiff sustained multiple fractures of the spine and arm, and suffered cervical and thoracic herniated discs and other injuries.
