35 Year Old Union Carpenter Who Fell Through Uncovered Stairway Opening Receives Settlement for $6,500,000.00
The plaintiff was a 35 year old union carpenter working on a project at Roswell Park overseen by Lehrer McGovern. The plaintiff was injured when he fell through an uncovered stairway opening at a construction site. The plaintiff fractured his ankle and his spine requiring surgeries.

The Beltz firm commenced an action on behalf of the plaintiff and his wife against the owner, general contractor and project manager of the construction site for failing to provide the plaintiff with a safe place to work. The action settled after jury selection for $6.5 million plus waiver of a $150,000 workers’ compensation lien.
